INDIA LIKELY TO TOUR SOUTH AFRICA IN LATE AUGUST

·       .  Both left handers also the respective board presidents propose this tour[Sourav Ganguly & grame smith}

Even though T20I series is proposed, the conduction of the series would highly depend on the respective governments, if they want this series to happen, it would also depend on Covid-19 cases in respective countries as well.

This tour to South Africa is not included in the FTP, although this was discussed by the board presidents Sourav Ganguly & Grame Smith and both showed their willingness for this tour. This news however was confirmed by the Cricket South Africa [CSA} acting chief executive Jacques Faul on Thursday.

He stated “We’ve had a very good discussion with them (BCCI). We’re seeking via Sascoc an audience with the sports minister to be given approval to, if needed, play behind closed doors. This will relate specifically to the potential of an incoming Indian tour”. He further added “We’re going to be very innovative because it’s an important tour for us. As I’ve stated before, we’re very encouraged by India’s willingness.”

The reason Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] agreed to this tour to compensate for the losses and help Cricket South Africa [CSA] as it tends to loose almost 36million dollars in next four-year

Last time India toured South Africa was back in 2018 for a full-fledged series comprising of all three formats where India conquered the limited-overs series while the test series was won by South Africa. South Africa were to tour India for 3 ODIs in mid-march, the first game in Dharamshala was washed out due rain & next 2 ODIs were called-off due Covid-19 pandemic.
