           UPCOMING ICC WORLD EVENTS   ·       ICC has announced the revised world     cup events….   I CC earlier announced the postponement of T20 World cup which was supposed to held down under later this year which means revising the world events calendar.   T here were three big world events to be played between 2020-2023 cycle but after the postponement of 2020 T20 world cup the revised calendar is as follows:   1.     2021 T20 World Cup- To be played in October-November 2021, final to be played on 14 th November 2021 and the venue is yet to be finalized by the ICC because originally it was supposed to hosted by India but postponing the 2020 T20 World Cup and Australian board wanting to host the event has created a dilemma which would be resolved in time to come…   2.      2022 T20 World Cup- Exactly a year later to 2021 T20 World cup, 2022 T20 World cup would be played in October- November, final to be played on 13 th November.               WORLD SUPER LEAGUE   ·       ICC has announced world super league for odi cricket….   A fter the World Test Championship, ICC has announced World Super League for ODI to make it more interesting as was the case with Test Cricket. On Monday ICC announced the Super League which would kick start in the upcoming England v/s Ireland ODI series. Originally it was supposed to start from May 2020 but due the corona virus pandemic it was delayed and now it would be underway.   W orld Super League will be the main criteria for the qualification for 2023 Cricket World Cup which would be played in India. The total of 13 teams to compete in the League i.e. 12 full member nations with Netherland . The top 7 teams along with India [being the host nation] would attain direct qualification to the main round of 2023 Cricket World Cup, while the bottom five teams would have to compete in Cricket World Cup Qualifiers just before the main round along with associate teams for the

            IPL ON ITS WAY….   ·       IPL to take place in uae which is going to kick start on 19 th September…   A fter ICC decided to postpone the T 20 world cup which was supposed to take place down under later this year in October-November, League [IPL]. The emerging host to conduct this mega event is considered to be UAE.   T here were sources of reports even before the the ICC’s announcement that conducting a mega event such as world cup with 16 teams was next to impossible in current crisis. With all the pieces falling into place there are no hindrance to conduct the IPL this year as the window opens up with no international assignments for the teams.   L ast week, BCCI chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed that IPL Governing Council will meet in coming 7-10 days to discuss the road map to conduct IPL. He also confirmed that they have zeroed down UAE as the likely host to conduct IPL. BCCI has also written to Indian Government seeking permission to host the event in

BCCI LOOKING AT EVERY ASPECT TO MAKE IPL 2020 HAPPEN ·       BCCi president ganguly positive about ipl2020 I PL 2020 which was postponed indefinitely for the time being due Covid-19 pandemic, is suddenly making noises that’s due world’s richest cricketing board President Sourav Ganguly is positive about IPL 2020. He said that he is working on each and every scenario make this happen. T he reason why BCCI is not backing out of IPL 2020 because it involves a truck load of money involved in it i.e. 4000cr which BCCI can’t afford to lose, which in turn would be used to develop the facilities in Indian Cricket. I CC world T20 is scheduled to be held down under later this year, which is unlikely to go ahead as planned but it’s not official by ICC, they are working on plans to conduct the tournament as planned. BCCI is planning to use that window of ICC world T20 if its deferred for this year. BCCI cannot plan this for now as ICC is yet to decide fate of ICC world T20.
